ABSTRACT:

Surgical site complications (SSCs) have a significant impact on surgical outcomes and remain a major cause of prolonged hospitalization, morbidity, and mortality. Consequences such as extended length of stay, the need for continuous care, and readmission rates not only hinder early recovery but also impose a substantial economic burden on the healthcare system. To mitigate wound complications in the inguinal region following vascular surgery, key strategies include meticulous tissue handling, wound hygiene at each dressing change, optimization of comorbidities, prophylactic antibiotic administration, and the prevention of hypothermia and hyperglycemia
